The Rolling Edge...
Quite a few years back I had a personal blog with that name... It seems appropriate for reasons I'm not sure how to explain, that this new blog should begin with that old name.
There was an ad from magazine I came across years ago... I managed to find the clipping buried away in old files. Sadly the bottom of the page is missing so I have no idea who wrote it or what it was for... although I have some vague notion it was for an architectural firm. Anyway, it was that image of the earth from the moon on a black page. Below that single image was very simple text that said the following:
" Life a sequence of events, captured for a moment, interpreted in a way unique to each individual, then lost to the past - our memory.
In that moment we call the present, life is perceived by the senses and we exist in the most profound sense, then from this moment our memory is born and the sensual experience is gone. "
I think that photography has a way of distilling the essence of that 'sensual experience' and helping the memory to perceive the past in a very vibrant and poignant way.
So, I hope you will visit from time to time and see what new moments from Life I am distilling, decanting, savoring, sharing...
