Juan Garcia-Bossio

Shooting behind the scenes images at a recording session for a local musician, the base player who had been hired to sit in for the gig, was Juan. He later contacted me about some of the images and we hit it off right away. Eventually we managed to line up our schedules and put a shoot together.

It’s easy to miss how talented and experienced Juan is because he’s such a laid back guy. You’ll quickly find how deep his resume is though… He’s toured and recorded with hundreds of artists both locally, and internationally.  He’s played for the Stones here in Philly during their ’50 and Counting’ tour, he’s shared the stage and performed with numerous Grammy Award winning artists and bands, and he serves as an adjunct faculty member at Eastern University since 2011.

Juan has studied music here in the US, and overseas, has a B.A. in Music from Eastern University and his Masters in Music Therapy from Drexel University.

He may fly below the radar, but if you look, you’ll find him turning up all over the place. In fact, not long after we did this session, I caught up with him performing with KillerWhale here in Philly, right before they went off to NY to open for Macy Gray.

If all of that isn't enough, he’s published both as an author and as a contributor.

Juan is sponsored by Anaconda Basses, Stringjoy, Kala U Bass, and Evidence Cables.
